COUNTY: Duchesne County
LOCATION DETAILS: Yellowstone Canyon. We were staying at the Swift Creek Camp ground which borders the high Uintas Wilderness.
NEAREST TOWN: Duchesne
NEAREST ROAD: Moon Lake Highway.
OBSERVED: Sound: Whoop Howl.
This occurred on the evening of the 22nd of August. We were staying at the Swift Creek camp ground which is in Yellowstone Canyon on the border of the high Uintas Wilderness (Take the moon lake highway from Duschene, Utah) We have a hybrid camp trailer and were just settling down to go to bed. The sound was distant but distinct. Both the wife and kids heard it and started to question what it was. I told them it was a cow :) Our Springer Spanial did not get upset or bark. It only lasted 30 seconds or so but I knew it was the same sound I had heard on this website.
I am not sure what kind of animal it is that makes this sound but would like to have it proven one way or another.
ALSO NOTICED: The sound gave from way up the Canyon. Had to come from deep in the wilderness. Their were 3 or 4 guided horse trailers in the parking lot at the end of the road. If anyone has heard or seen anything it would be them!!!
OTHER WITNESSES: Wife and Kids. Others in camp ground but did not talk to them.
OTHER STORIES: I listened to the report from the Uintas that occurred in 2006.
TIME AND CONDITIONS: Evening. 10:40 PM give or take five minutes.
Follow-up investigation report by BFRO Investigator Chad Hamblin:
I talked to the submitter of this report and decided he is a sincere and credible witness. I believe he and his family really heard the sounds he described in the report he submitted, and I believe those sounds could well have been made by a bigfoot.
