Motorist has late night visual encounter near Tyrone

YEAR: 2009

SEASON: Summer

MONTH: July

DATE: 17th

STATE: Georgia

COUNTY: Fayette County

LOCATION DETAILS: Lee's Mill Road

NEAREST TOWN: Tyrone

NEAREST ROAD: Lee's Mill Road

OBSERVED: I was driving home from work at about 11:00pm. As I rounded a curve in the road I saw something walking across the road in front of me. It was tall, not slim but not thick and covered in grayish - brownish hair. It never turned to look at me and just loped across the road and off in the dark. I was traveling about 40 mph and slowed quite a bit to ensure it would make it across without me hitting it.

ALSO NOTICED: nothing

OTHER WITNESSES: no - just myself

OTHER STORIES: only after this happened I read accounts in the neighboring county (Coweta) in 2006 and 2005 .My brother does believe in bigfoot, I however, did not think I did, but I did see something.

TIME AND CONDITIONS: Night, around 11:00pm. Lighting was from my headlights. It was a clear night, no rain.

ENVIRONMENT: Lots of pines. There are houses all along this road, but they are spread out.

Follow-up investigation report by BFRO Investigator Mary Mallon:

I spoke to this witness and I felt she was very sincere about her report. I could hear in her voice that she was still very upset about the encounter.

She was heading home from work. Her route home takes her across rural country roads. She was driving around 35 mph when the creature stepped out of the tree line on to the road 30 feet ahead of her. She slowed her car down to avoid colliding with the creature and was approximately 10 feet from it. She noticed it was around 6-7’ tall, medium build, hairy and had a loping walk. The creature did not turn towards the vehicle at all, just continued across the road to the other tree line. The sighting lasted 10-15 seconds.

The area where the event took place is a rural country area, pine woods, and sporadic houses.
