Submitted by witness on Wednesday, June 9, 2004.
Woman on horseback hears footsteps; observes animal running away through woods

YEAR: 2004

SEASON: Spring

MONTH: June

DATE: 06/07/04

STATE: Arkansas

COUNTY: Searcy County

LOCATION DETAILS: (Removed per witness)

NEAREST TOWN: Oxley

NEAREST ROAD: Hwy 66

OBSERVED: On Monday June 7th at around 3:00 I went horseback riding at a friends house. Shortly after I got out of the driveway and onto the dirt road the horse spooked and jumped sideways. I heard 2 HEAVY footsteps in the woods quite close to the road. You could hear small trees and branches beeing trampled. I saw a large white hairy figure moving quickly through the brush. It was hard to make out the complete figure. It was tall and big as far as I could see. Then as suddenly as it had happend the sounds were gone and I could no longer see anything. I have a few friends that are going to go up there with me next week to see if there are any signs of anything left at that spot.

OTHER WITNESSES: No, just the horse I was riding.

OTHER STORIES: Yes, Around the same area a friend and his friend were hiking around some rock formations. They did not see anything, but as they heard a sound like something that was mad going mmmmmmmmm...mmmmmmmmmm loudly. They did not investigate. They turned back immediatly.

TIME AND CONDITIONS: It was about mid-day, I would say around 3:00pm. It was partly cloudy.

ENVIRONMENT: It was right off the dirt road that I was riding on. I was on a hillside covered in deciduous trees.

Follow-up investigation report:

I spoke with the witness during a telephone interview. Since she could not be absolutely sure in her visualization of the animal, the report is being posted as a class B. She was certain however, that she heard bipedal movement and crashing which is suspicious of a sasquatch.

An associate of mine, Mr. Cowell, traveled to the area and had this to say about the area:

"It could hide about anything that walks. Lots of mountains and valleys"

The witness and some friends plan to return to the location in the near future and if any new details are available, an update will be made at that time.
