Sand Hill Woman Says Bigfoot Growled Here

SAND HILL - A 10-foot growl was reported to the Harrison County Sheriff's Department Wednesday.

Deputy Othello Beckham was sent looking for a monster after a woman in the Sand Hill community reported what she believed to be a Bigfoot Wednesday morning. The creature was again reported Wednesday night, fighting with some dogs in the wooded area around the settlement.

Although no one actually saw the creature, it sounded 10-feet tall when it growled, a witness said.

Deputy Beckham said he found dog paw-prints around the area, but no Bigfoot prints. Sand Hill residents said the monster had frightened the dogs Wednesday morning. It reportedly returned later around 9:30 p.m. and attacked dogs in the community about eight miles west of Marshall on U.S. Hwy. 80.

About a year ago, another Bigfoot was reported in about the same area. Bigfoot, also called Sasquatch, is an ape-like creature whose existence has never been documented despite sporadic sightings in North America.
