OBSERVED: In the spring of 1981 me and my family were camping up the Lewis river. We were out on a bush wack hike{not on a trail} we came across a large foot print on the edge of a creek. We keep it to our selves for all these years until I heard about your web site.I also was hunting out side Packwood Wa in oct 1999 and heard an incredible sound I have never heard before,It was so loud and the woods went silent when it was done.

OTHER WITNESSES: 5

TIME AND CONDITIONS: mid morning

ENVIRONMENT: forest ,creek bottom

Follow-up investigation report by BFRO Investigator Scott Taylor:

I interviewed the witness in person. He was able to clarify exactly where the footprint was found. The footprint was approximately 16" long and 5" wide. There was the hint of toes, but water was running over the print, which would make the print quite fresh.

The witness is a professional in the medical field, therefore, unlikely to risk his reputation with reporting a hoax. Also, there were five people in the group who also saw the print. They were off-trail in a place that is unlikely to be a set-up. The witness is an extremely experienced outdoorsman, having hunted, fished, hiked and camped in the area all his life. He knows all the local animal track types, and is unlikely to be fooled or to misidentify a track.
