A father and his two sons glimpse a large hairy ape run away from them while Dove hunting. (Show Printer-friendly Version) YEAR: 2002 SEASON: Fall MONTH: September STATE: Ohio COUNTY: Portage County LOCATION DETAILS: It was in thick woods and in front of the woods was a cornfield but the corn had been harvested about a week before. NEAREST TOWN: Hiram NEAREST ROAD: Ryder Road OBSERVED: In September of 2002 my brother, dad and I were hunting Doves on a farmers property. When we saw some Doves across the field we started to walk towards them. We were walking in the field about ten yards from thick woods when we heard a snap type noise. We looked over towards the noise and could see a Bigfoot crouching down watching us. When it noticed we saw it the Bigfoot stood up, looked at us, and ran off into the woods. It was the scariest thing I ever saw. We left the area immediately. ALSO NOTICED: A day later we came back and there were large impressions in the ground in the same area where we saw it. OTHER WITNESSES: My brother and my dad. OTHER STORIES: Yes, there was a sighting seven years ago in the same general area. Unfortunately, the witness moved away five years ago. TIME AND CONDITIONS: It was about 3:00 PM in the afternoon. The weather was sunny (unusually hot) with a few clouds in the sky. ENVIRONMENT: There is a bunch of oaks and maple trees with lots of saplings growing in the underbrush. Follow-up investigation report:
