Possible daylight sighting by motorcyclist 35 miles NE of Naples
(Show Printer-friendly Version)
YEAR: 2021
SEASON: Spring MONTH: April DATE: 11th STATE: Florida COUNTY: Collier County LOCATION DETAILS: County line Rd, off of Oilwell Rd, near Hwy 29 [26.348220, -81.270820] NEAREST TOWN: Naples NEAREST ROAD: Hwy 29 OBSERVED: I was riding my motorcycle north on County Line Rd when up ahead of me (approximately 100 yrds) I saw something quickly walking from East to West across the road. Before it moved, I thought it was a person standing there. Then I thought it might be a deer as the color of the legs and body were a uniform color brown, and the speed at which it moved. Then I noticed that it was not "bounding" across, like a deer would have to, to move that fast. What I saw was a smooth, bipedal walk with a long gait that crossed the road in 3 or 4 steps. When I reached the area where the figure had crossed there was a skunky/body odor smell (NOT a skunk though...it wasn't that "heavy" of a smell) for several yards as I passed through that area. That is what made me think that it could have been the skunkape. I did not go back to the area (yet) to look for any signs because I didn't really put it together until I was well passed the area. OTHER WITNESSES: Just me, riding my motorcycle down the rd. OTHER STORIES: No TIME AND CONDITIONS: @10:00 am ENVIRONMENT: On the East side of the rd is a canal with farmland and the Everglades behind it. On the West side is forest and farmland.
