NEAREST TOWN: Greenville
NEAREST ROAD: CR 4201
OBSERVED: We would not have noticed it if it hadn’t been for the dogs that went out barking and running at it. Once they saw what it was, when it stepped through the tree line, they stopped barking and ran back to the house. So then we tried to video it and take pictures, but it’s so far away that when we blow them up to try to see what it is, it is hard to tell.
We called the owner of the land because I lease out there and was telling him that there’s something cutting across his pasture and going down towards a pond. It was standing up walking, and then, as it got closer to the pond, it just went down on all fours.
ALSO NOTICED: Nothing unusual and then it was spotted coming through the tree area and was not running but making it quickly across the pasture. Four dogs went running out to it barking. Once the dogs reached it they stopped barking and turned around and came back.
OTHER WITNESSES: 3 witnesses and we were feeding our dog.
OTHER STORIES: No have never heard of any incidents around here.
TIME AND CONDITIONS: It was 7:09 pm 90 degrees outside clear weather beginning to get dark
ENVIRONMENT: It is part of a 7 acre pasture. Whatever it was went toward the pond at the back of the property. It came from a treed area.

After the incident these witnesses contacted the neighbors who own the land. The neighbors drove down to the pond that morning and looked for any signs and found nothing because it was so dry. They didn’t get very close to the pond because they are elderly and were afraid their 4x4 cart ("side-by-side") would slide in because the pond edge is steep.
The video, with sound, does not capture the figure going down on all fours. Some of the witnesses were viewing from different angles and saw that with their own eyes.
I believe the family sounds sincere and believable. They are not attempting to hoax us.
It appears to have a compliant gait, with no up-and-down head bobbing like humans.
A human might go down on all fours if they didn't want to be seen, but just going to hands and knees is a different matter than moving forward at a the same brish pace on all fours. Very few humans can do that.
From everything I can see about this case, I think they got a real bigfoot on camera.

After hearing about this sighting and seeing the video, I asked myself the same thing most people will ask right away:
Why would a bigfoot be walking across a random farm 50 miles NE of Dallas, Texas?
When I looked at the maps I realized this vicinity is the bridge zone between the headwaters of the Sabine River and the headwaters of the Sulphur River. Due to the histories of both riverbeds, one would expect occassional sightings where these two river systems come closest.
And this property sits along an actual bridge pathway -- a railroad bed. This railroad connects the Sabine River to the Sulphur River. Hence, this is anything but a random location. This is a high probability zone for bigfoots to pass through.
Why would bigfoots be in East Texas at all?
The answer to that question is the same in just about every other sighting location across North America:
Bigfoot prey upon deer. Deer are abundant in East Texas.
There are no vast national forests in East Texas. The vast majority of the deer herds live their entire lives on private farm land and ranch lands -- mixtures of woods and grasslands. East Texas is distinct because it may have America's highest concentration of white tail deer.
Two intertwined questions, answered simultaneously:
1) Why did it take so many months for this report and video to come out after it was received? 2) Why don't you have someone stand out there so you can get a size comparison video?
Answer: The next logical step in investigating the video was to do a reenactment for a size comparison. That would require having some person of known height go onto the neighbor's property to walk along roughly the same pathway as the figure. That would require the permission of the neighbor. Apparently our nearest investigator was unsuccessful in getting the neighbor to return his phone calls. Without that comparison video (with measurements already determined) there was reluctance among all of us to release the video. It would seem premature, which meant we had to hold back the whole report.
Recently it was decided that so much time had passed ... it was doubtful the property owner was going to call back the original local investigator. Both I and Caroline decided the best hope of winning the cooperation of the property owners was to post the report and video so they can see why we need to go onto their property. We think they will also want to see the size comparison. Let's hope that works. .
