YEAR: 1996

SEASON: Summer

MONTH: May

DATE: 20

STATE: Oregon

COUNTY: Baker County

LOCATION DETAILS: Cornucopia Ghost town, go to Halfway Oregon and go north.

NEAREST TOWN: Halfway Oregon

NEAREST ROAD: Halfway-Cornucopia Highway

OBSERVED: I was in Oregon up in the mountains at the Cornucopia Ghost Town. My older brother and I were messing around in the creek below the ghost town and we looked up to see bigfoot running up the creek. We were a little scared at seeing what looked to be a very hairy human running up past us. It just not really looked like a human face - it was different. He kind of looked like a monkey with a human body. My brother and I ran up to where our family was having a BBQ and they ran down just to see him running into the trees. Since that day I have been very interested in this mysterious creature that has left an image in my head.

OTHER WITNESSES: My older brother and my 2 younger brothers, my mother and my aunt. My older was the one messing around in the water with me and the rest of the family was up at the camp they set up for our BBQ.

TIME AND CONDITIONS: The lighting was bright enough to tell the description of the creature. It was mid-day. A little cloud cover.

ENVIRONMENT: He was in the open when he ran through the creek and then he ran into the woods which was a pine forest area and he was headed up higher into the mountains.

Follow-up investigation report by BFRO Investigator Dr. Wolf H. Fahrenbach:

The two initial observers were children in their early teen years. They could describe the animal as having a dark-brown to black color with uneven distribution. It moved at a fast walk but never ran. The primary witness provided the precise location by way of Topozone. The region is a few miles south of the Eagle Cap Widerness Area.
