Resident observes a sasqautch chasing herd of deer east of Bethel
(Show Printer-friendly Version)

YEAR: 2022

SEASON: Winter

MONTH: February

DATE: 24

STATE: Connecticut

COUNTY: Fairfield County

NEAREST TOWN: Bethel

NEAREST ROAD: Plum Trees Rd.

OBSERVED: I just got home from work. I was parked in my driveway sitting in my car chatting on the phone with my friend for about 20 minutes. My house was at the bottom end of Karen Drive. The driveway has a view of a creek to the east with woods behind it. It is an open cleared piece of land that meets the creek about 70 yards from the driveway. On the other side of the stream is a house located on Plum Trees Rd. The back yard of the home was a fairly open yard but lightly wooded and very clear view between trees.

I was about 15 minutes into my phone conversation when I saw several deer running across the back yard of the property about 30 yards past the stream. First there were a few and within seconds about 30 deer were running fast through the back yard! I never saw anything like this before.

I tell my friend on the phone that I can't believe how many deer there are, and how fast they are running. Within seconds following the deer there is a very tall large all black upright figure.

My first thought was this is either a person or a bigfoot. I did a quick checklist in my head and ruled out person. It was solid black from head to toe with no color differences. It was also too large to be a person. I had a size comparison with the deer ran just past it. The black figure was about 2 and a half times the height of the deer torso. It must have been between 8 and 10 feet tall.

It was walking at a normal steady pace and stopping for a second or two behind a of couple trees. These trees are tall and no limbs or leaves in my view. I had a clear view at about 100 yards in front of my car.

OTHER WITNESSES: When my sighting occurred I was shocked and blurted out excitable and loud OMG I just saw a bigfoot!!!

OTHER STORIES: I did see on this website there was another sighting in 2013 a few miles from there on Nashville Rd.

TIME AND CONDITIONS: My sighting occurred around 5:30 pm on a clear day as sun was setting.

Follow-up investigation report by BFRO Investigator Matthew Moneymaker:

I spoke with this witness at length. Her story is believeable. The woods she is describing is on the west side of Blue Jay Orchards outside Bethel.

Before even speaking with her I saw indications that this would be a credible report due to the location of the incident. It is a few hundred feet from the powerline route than runs east all the way to the railroad tracks mentioned in BFRO Report 77112 just south of Lower Paugussett State Park.

Here is a drone shot showing Blue Jay Orchards. The sighting location is not visible in this image, but the position of this drone would have been directly above where the sasquatch was seen pursuing the deer herd in February 2022.

Here is a higher view of the area showing the location of this report along with others between there and the Housatonic. The likely travel pathways are shown in gold for powerlines and magenta for railroad bed.
