California Redwoods: September 11 -14, 2008

Humboldt County, California has the world's richest history of sightings and track finds. This is where the first tracks were cast in the 1950's, and where the Patterson footage was obtained in 1967.

This will be the fifth BFRO expedition to the area. Every expedition to this area has resulted in at least some Class B activity, reported by multiple people. The regulars from the California BFRO have their favorite spots, and they also have a list of new places they would like see.

One of the first sightings ever with a thermal viewer happened on the edge of a camp that will serve as the base camp for this expedition.

A smaller expedition in March 2005 (the Shelby-Voght Expedition) had a "samurai chatter" encounter on a nearby trail around 1:30am. A few years prior to that an employee with the National Park Service cast some excellent tracks on a trail a few miles away.

Brandon Kiel (San Francisco) will be leading this expedition. If you are a non-member and would like to attend this trip, please look up his email address on the FAQ page and contact him.
