Late night encounter by Coon hunters near Byhalia

LOCATION DETAILS: In Union County Ohio, near the village of Byhalia,

NEAREST TOWN: Byhalia

OBSERVED: A loud scream and an awful smell, loud crashing noises in the woods

OTHER WITNESSES: I had just let the dogs off the leads to track raccoons, and were folllowing the dogs into the woods, there were 6 of us I believe it has been a while and my memory of the hunting party is not clear, I do know that myself and my second and third cousin heard the same sound and the dogs came back to the trucks scared and one of them smell like a skunk had got him.

OTHER STORIES: Just rumors from some of the others in the party about an unusual sound and smell in the area and maybe some footprints that were supposedly found by the creek the week before.

TIME AND CONDITIONS: In October 1983 unsure of the correct date but it was around Halloween

ENVIRONMENT: A farm field surrounded on 3 sides by dense wooded areas, with a small creek and an abandonded farm house approx. .4 mi. from the woods.
