OBSERVED: I was driving through the Fort Stewart base to get to a friend to meet up and I come around the corner on highway 144 coming from Richmond Hill and on my right side, I seen a figure ahead with my headlights pointing directly at him, walking to the right with a long stride between me and the telephone pole and he turned his head to the right and looked at me straight in the eyes and by that time I was, I would say between 40 yards and closing in to I’d say about 30 feet before I passed, but we made eye contact. He never sped up or slowed down or stopped or anything, but he did not seem scared or nervous. It was my first experience with anything like this, but I feel like it was very close up and since then I’ve been in the area generally looking a few occasions to try to listen. I met other people in the local area who have said that they hear it at night. But I know 100% sure that I seen it with my own eyes about 7 1/2 feet tall, walking to the right and my motorcycle lights pointed straight at them and we made eye contact as I was passing, which ended up being close to 30 feet away to my right. I was reluctant to talk to anyone about it just because of the subject matter but here recently whenever I was reading about other people’s experience in the area made me feel comfortable about talking about it.

OTHER STORIES: After the sighting I started doing research in the area. I found that it is very near the one that the soldier on Fort Stewart with the thermal imaging saw one walk across a path, and I also have a client of mine that I spoke to me in person about seeing and hearing them near the Morgans Bridge on Highway 204 which is within a radius of 10 miles straight.

TIME AND CONDITIONS: It was around 1 AM in the morning and my motorcycle lights pointed directly at him when I came around a curve he was between me and a light pole on the right side of the road on Fort Stewart Base Highway 144.

ENVIRONMENT: Heavy wooded area. Swampy on side of the roads in the area. Huge amounts of wooded acres in that vicinity. The side of the road is cleared for power lines and it was between the road and wood line on the side of the road where I saw the huge creature.

Follow-up investigation report by BFRO Investigator Wayne Tillett:

The witness's sighting took place in the summer of 2023. He was riding his motorcycle late at night, en route to a friend's house. Coming from the Richmond Hill area he traveled along a desolate stretch of Highway 144 which goes through the Fort Stewart Military Base in that part of Georgia.

A former military policeman himself, he stated that he was closely observing the posted speed limit when he came around a curve in the road and saw a large dark figure crossing the highway. When he caught a view of it he noticed it was between his motorcycle and a light pole on the side of the road it came from.

His headlights were throwing a shadow of the creature onto the light pole. Estimating that it was 7 to 7 1/2 feet tall and “wide enough to barely fit through an average doorway in your house”.

The witness stated that he never felt frightened or threatened in any way and he slowed down to under 40 mph to get a better view. Giving it a wide berth he said that it never broke its stride and one step for it would be easily 2 or 3 for us. It was big and bulky but not necessarily a bodybuilder type and could easily pick you up and throw you with ease.

The hair on its body and head was sparse in places and had a general length of 5 to 6 inches. The head was sloped and the hair came to a point on top.

When asked about the face he responded that it looked more ape-like than human with skin that looked rugged and leathery. As he drove by it turned to look at him and he noticed the eyes were “glowing” red from his headlights he thought. Much like a deer or other animal at night would reflect white, blue, or green glow.

As he drove away he assumed the creature continued into the thick woods on the other side of the road. He told me that he only told a few friends about his encounter but generally kept it to himself. That is until 6 months ago when a customer came into his business and described having a nighttime sighting herself in the same area. When she too described the glowing red eyes that made him want to investigate these creatures himself and file a report about what he saw.

When I asked him how long he saw the thing he stated 12 to 15 seconds which would make sense while driving by on a motorcycle, even at a slow speed.

The area of woods that he was driving through is on a protected Army base. A large body of water, the Caoochee River, was directly to his right. This was also the direction that the Bigfoot was walking to. He also added that the deer population is very “thick" through there.

Raised in the woods from a young boy he said that until that night the thought of Bigfoot had never crossed his mind. From his clear testimony and attention to detail, he`s a local artist who runs his own successful tattoo business. I do believe the witness had a very close class A encounter that night.

He confided in me that he frequents that stretch of road as often as he can in hopes of seeing one again.
